Pastor Patrick A. Harvin is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. While a student at the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics and Management, he confessed Jesus and became a member of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter. He was baptized and grew under the leadership of Pastor Marion Newton. After college, he became a member of the Haskell Heights First Baptist Church of Columbia, South Carolina, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Joseph H. Hollis.

Pastor Harvin accepted the Call of God on his life in 1998. After being licensed to the ministry in 1999, Pastor Harvin went on to complete a Certificate in Pastoral Care at the C.E. Graham Bible School in Columbia, South Carolina. Pastor Harvin was ordained in October 2001 and called to pastor the Jerusalem Baptist Church of Hopkins, South Carolina in May 2002. He served as Vice-Moderator for the Wateree Baptist Association Upper Division from October 2004-2008. In October 2008, Pastor Harvin was elected Moderator of the Wateree Baptist Association Upper Division’s Annual Meeting.

Of all the things that the Lord has done in his life, Pastor Harvin is grateful that the Lord has blessed him with and made him the steward of his family. His relationships with his wife, Dedra, and three children, Brandon, Christal, and Michael are vital to Pastor Harvin’s personal life and his effectiveness in ministry.

Pastor Harvin believes that God has a purpose for each of our lives. He lives by his favorite scripture, Romans 12:11: “…Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.” Pastor Harvin believes that God’s Word needs to be preached and taught with practical application so that the lost are saved and the Body of Christ is edified.
